Mike Rowe is also the host of a discovery channel program called ‘Dirty Jobs’. At first he talked about a specific episode he did that changed the way he saw things. He talked about an episode taking place at a farm where they were castrating sheep, and how there are humane and inhumane ways of doing it. The farmer cut the testicles off with a knife, but Mike believed this was the wrong way of doing it, so he stopped the show for the first time and told him to use a small rubber band to castrate them. He believed that was the right way of doing it. But he saw that the sheep that had a rubber band wrapped around its testicles seemed to be in more stress than the sheep whose testicles were simply cut off. He then realized that the humane society does not always truly do things the right, and less painful way for animals.
I believe that this “ted talk” video was quite humorous and entertaining. He spoke very fluently and always had something to say. It also had a theme, or main point throughout the entire video as well that I agree with. I believe the main point was that you shouldn’t, and most people don’t follow their dreams and aspirations. Life isn’t always easy, it’s about making a living and doing something that you still enjoy that you can do every day. This is the circle of life.
